It is Monday afternoon and its currently 99F outside. I’ve just finished packing my stuff and loading the moving truck. One step close to Pasadena, CA and the US Center for World Mission. So far I’ve gotten the truck and tow dolly with minimal issue (one tire on the tow dolly leaked air but a call to Penske had a mechanic out in 2 hours to replace the wheel). The loading process went smoothly. One of my helpers made there remark that it was ‘my life in a box’. A few photos to illustrate:
In sense it is true. That ‘box’ has nearly all my stuff in it. It does provide a good visual for this time of change. All my stuff packed up in a truck ready to move on to some other destination. Everything from my bikes, to my furniture, to photos taken back when I was a kid. If it went up in flames it would sure be huge annoyance. However I’ve not seen much less used any of that stuff for 2 months. The last 2 months I’ve spent visiting friends and family. Much of that time spent sharing with people about my calling to ministry in California. In that time I’ve had more good times and real ‘living’ than any other 2 month period of my life. And I did it without all my stuff. My life isn’t in that truck. My life is the people who helped me load it today, the people I have gotten to share and fellowship with these last few months, all those who have partnered with me through prayer and giving.
